Reception News Spring 2 Week 5

What a busy week we have had this week again! The children have worked incredibly hard this week, which was assessment week. The children produced their own independent writing, which really highlighted how much progress they have made, applying all of their phonics and red words.

The children have also worked hard during the week to think about all their areas of maths. Next week we will be focusing on time and money. There are so many things to discuss with your child around time and money, how much things cost, change, paying for items when you go shopping, as well as daily routines around time and the numbers and dials on clock face.

In RE we are going to planting our own cress seeds, this is a sign that we are growing together in God’s love, and many things grow during the Spring season, as do we during this season of Lent.

Finally, during next week we will be learning more of our phonics, please keep practising the phase 3 sounds with your child, they are doing really well with these! Please keep reading with your child every night.

Reminders:

  • Library session on Monday’s – please ensure your child has their Library folder and book EVERY Monday for their session.
  • Last PE session of the term on Thursday – PE bags will go home, please check that EVERYTHING is labelled in your child’s PE kit, some children still do not have names on their PE kit.
  • Last day of term – Friday 5th April, children finish school at 1.30pm

We hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day
