Happy New Year to you all!
The Christmas holidays seem a long time ago now and we’ve had a busy first week back!
In English we wrote about our Christmas holidays and then have started on our persuasive writing unit.
We had great fun annotating pictures using lots of adjectives to add description.
In Maths we have been using information tables to answer questions. We have learnt how to make tally charts by going around the class asking children what their favourite food is, and we rehearsed counting in 5’s. Today we used our tally charts to make bar charts! We’ve also been writing our numbers as words and used the reference section of the dictionary to help us!
In RE we have started our new topic, Books. We talked about the books we have at home and at school and why books are special. This will lead us into learning about the Bible.
I think the highlight this week was our topic launch! We each had a passport to travel around the world and completed different activities from each country – I think paper aeroplanes in China might have been the favourite destination!
Have a lovely weekend,
