We are finally able to post the news again so this week we have a bumper edition from last week and this week!
Nursery News- 22/6/18 (A retrospective!)
What a fantastic and very busy week it has been! Our story this week was ‘The Snail and the whale’ by Julia Donaldson. We practised writing our names and made our own collage snails.
In maths we were introduced to the term ‘fewer’ and had to decide whether two groups of fish were the same or if they had more/fewer. The children did really well and Mrs Gilliam and I were very impressed!
Our Nursery outside area is continuing to grow with the addition of our (almost completed) sensory garden and our new music wall. Thanks to Mr Hunter for helping me with the music area, which the children have really been enjoying! In fact, they enjoyed it so much on Tuesday that Mrs Pisaturo could hear the ‘symphony’ in Year 1!
This week we had several parents attend our Stay and Play sessions. I hope that parents enjoyed these as much as the children did and we look forward to our final session on Tuesday next week.
The week finished off with our fantastic Big Toddle! We had lots of fun walking and dancing around the field while singing our favourite songs. This was all to raise money for our class charity Barnardo’s, which is such a worthy cause and does vital work for disadvantaged children. Thank you to those of you that have returned your sponsor forms and for your generous donations.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and support!
Have a great weekend

Nursery News- 29/6/18
Wow what a great week we have had and hasn’t it flown by? On Wednesday we had our Nursery Sports Day and the children all participated perfectly. The sun was shining but luckily we had a bit of cloud which made it feel a lot cooler, so it was perfect Sports Day weather.
It was lovely to see many of you at the Art Exhibition and I hope that many of you were able to purchase your child’s amazing artwork. They worked very hard. We had lots of lovely comments from the teachers and pupils alike so Nursery should be proud!
Next week we will have another cause for celebration as it will be our class assembly on Friday at 9.15am. Please ensure you are practising your child’s lines with them. Most of them know them off by heart already but it doesn’t hurt to keep practising! Please could you send your child into school on Friday wearing any bright plain block single colour top and their black shorts. Please could tops be without logos, writing or images if possible. Thanks so much in advance for your assistance. I have attached a link for a Youtube video so you can practise our assembly song. It is the Motions Creation Song. I warn you, it is very catchy so be prepared to be singing along with us on Friday!

We also had the last of our stay and play visits this week. It was lovely to have parents in and hope you enjoyed playing with your child and seeing them in the Nursery environment.
Thank you for your generous donations to The Big Toddle! I haven’t got a final total yet but we have definitely smashed our target so thank you very much! If there are any outstanding sponsor forms and donations please may you return them early next week so we can send the funds to Barnardo’s.
Have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the Summer Fayre tomorrow.
