Another busy week draws to a close and here we are at half term already! Only a few weeks to go until the end of the school year and hasn’t it flown?! And it’s showing no signs of slowing down yet!
This week in English, we have completed our stories based on a fable. Within this, we have practised the use of conjunctions, prepositions and adverbs of time as well as direct speech. What are the five rules when writing direct speech? I wonder how many of Year 3 can remember them all?
In maths our division work has extended into beginning more formal methods. We also completed a baseline assessment for TT Rockstars to see how many of our times tables we already know (and that means know quickly in random order). Every child now has a password for TT Rockstars so that they can practise their tables and improve knowledge and speed.
Our RE this week has been Journey in Love. We have had some interesting discussions about friendship, changes and looking after ourselves physically and mentally as well as the difference between being alone or being lonely and how to help each other to make and keep friends.
In Topic the children have painted their vases, basing the colours and designs on those that were used in Ancient Greek times. The children have worked really hard on some lovely vase designs.
Have a lovely half term!
