The weeks are flying by and here we are halfway through May!
This week, we have continued fables and, within that, have practised direct speech. The children came up with the five rules for writing speech and made posters to explain the rules. Now we just need to remember all the rules when we’re writing dialogue!
In maths we have continued with division and multiplication, in particular looking at scaling and correspondence problems and using bar modelling and cubes to help us.
We have completed our RE topic of Energy and next week will be focused on the Journey in Love topic for Year 3.
Today the school celebrated in anticipation of the Royal Wedding and Year 3 entered into the spirit of things with gusto. Everyone looked smart enough to be in Windsor and Steve could easily stand in if the royals find themselves short of a minister for the service! Well done to all the children who brought in their yummy and beautifully decorated cakes for the wedding cake competition too.
Ten of our class will be receiving their First Holy Communion this weekend so please keep them in your prayers.
Don’t forget, next week is Walk to School Week so let’s think of the environment and our fitness by walking all the way to school every day or, if that’s too far, parking a bit further away than usual to have a bit of a walk.
