Well another week has flown by in Nursery, although it was a slightly shorter week thanks to the Bank Holiday Monday! Our story this week was ‘Supertato: Veggies Assemble’ by Sue Hendra and the week started with an evil pea invasion! We received a letter from the Evil Pea telling us that the super veggies had been frozen and that we needed to set them free. Not only that but we had to hunt down 10 of the Evil Pea’s brother’s and sisters hiding in Nursery. Luckily, the Evil Pea was no match for our Nursery superheroes and order was restored!
In maths, we learnt about adding one more to a number. The super veggies had been trapped, tied up and padlocked. The only way to free them was to look at the number on the padlock and use our number lines to work out which key had the number that was one more than the padlock, in order to open it!It was tricky using those keys but we worked very hard and managed to free the veggies again!Well done Nursery!
Outside we set up a superhero obstacle course around the castle this week. As ‘superheroes in training’ we were honing our abilities by balancing, throwing, jumping, crawling and running in order to complete the obstacle course. Lots of physical development and lots of fun too!
It was International Day today and the children looked wonderful in their outfits. It was lovely to see some traditional dress too.Today was a very busy day as we went to mass with Reception too. Thank you once again to those parents and grandparents that gave freely of their time to join us today. It really is appreciated. When we returned to Nursery after mass, the children all enjoyed some French food (croissants, brioche and crepes!) and even learnt a little conversational French too! Hopefully most of you were greeted with a ‘bonjour’ at pick up time!
Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
