Nursery news 9/3/18

Well what a week it has been in Nursery!Of course the big news was that we had our Prayer Service. The children all talked about Lent and how we can be like Jesus by making a sacrifice and helping others. With that in mind, as a school we are currently collecting tinned and dried food to donate to the local food bank, to help less fortunate local families.Any donations you could bring into Nursery would be greatly appreciated.

The children all did so well in the Prayer Service and Mrs Gilliam and I have been so proud of how well they have learned their lines and the song! Onwards and upwards to our class assembly in July…watch this space!

Speaking of space (see what I did there?!), we have continued our Space topic this week and our book this week was ‘Welcome to Alien School’. The children made their very own hand aliens and explored some very slimy space-ghetti,  which is apparently a staple food at Alien School.

We have been practising our number formation so please do ask the children to practise writing their numbers at home. We have also been learning our letter sounds and how to write these new sounds focusing on correct formation and pencil grip. Our letter sound this week was ‘t’.

We look forward to seeing you at parent consultations on Thursday.

Have a lovely weekend, especially all you mums that have surely already received your beautiful cards made with their own little hands, fingers and thumbs.Definitely one to keep! Enjoy your special day!
