In class this week, there has been a gruesome and grizzly theme running through our lessons.
In English we explored personification about The Black Death and I had some tragic and beautiful descriptions: ‘As Death’s bloodthirsty arms grabbed my neck, then he took me away in an eerie silence.’
In Maths we compared fractions of numbers and found equivalent fraction families. The children really got the hang of this quite quickly!
Our topic lessons have seen us transported back to the 14th Century for some vile environments and plague infected people. We learned about buboes, boils and pus this week, ask your child for more details.
Our RE got off to a peaceful and vigourous start this week as I discovered how the children have been living through Catholic Social Teaching. It really made RE lessons special this week to think about Jesus’ mission, and how this could help us fulfil our own. I am really glad we got to share our learning in front of our esteemed guests and I am proud of the children, both in attitude and engagement.
